Access date field - update as record is updated
Hi everyone.
Sorry if this has been answered before, I did a search before asking. For a client's website I have a DatePosted field which is filled in using the Now() command when a new entry is posted. This is being used to list events which are ordered by Date/Time order in DESC order - so far so good ... However this year, the events are being edited on a regular basis and the client would like the event last edited to appear at the top of the list, with the current DATE/TIME. I have searched for a solution and had no success. I am looking for either an Access command that updates the date when edited with the current DATE/TIME OR posssibly adding a hidden field that updates the database with the current date and time ... but not sure what I would put in the hidden date field. I am using ASP VBScript for the server-side. On further reading I have seen articles about AfterUpdate - is this the best solution, and if, how do I get to AfterUpdate - suggestions on tutorials you know of would be great. Thanks in advance, Sheila Last edited by matrixbrawl; Jan 10th, 2007 at 11:14. |
