Marketing my idea

As some of you may know i've set up a new scheme, the UK Young Internet Alliance.

Now i have the challenge of trying to market it successfully. How do people suggest the best way is? I have a very low budget £10 max!

I want to aim it at the specific audience, U22 Designers/developers, do i simply trawl the internet and fire off emails to designers, or is there a better way to go about it?

Christopher

Re: Marketing my idea

I'd have thought colleges and universities would be a good place to start, considering the age range. Speaking to a member of the relevant faculty of your local seat of learning may get you some good ideas - other than that, posting articles on college/uni forums.

Re: Marketing my idea

Hi Christopher

I dont know if this is still something you might be looking for help with?

I run my own web design business in Scotland, and i also do community projects. I am going to be launching a youth driven employment agency. Although i dont know what the UK Young Internet Alliance is aimed at doing but it may be something i could provide input on as the agency i am setting up is just about ready to go

Thanks

Jamie

Re: Marketing my idea

I'm new to this site but have some experience..

frinkky's thoughts on colleges is an excellent idea.

For your budget, I would try advertising in some of the local internet cafe/coffee shops and haunts around your area. It's all about creating buzz. Someone always knows someone who would be "perfect" for the job, but atleast that gets the word out.

Also, message boards are one of the easiest and cheapest ways to target a certain audience. I try to use them as often as I can, considering they are pre-established and pre-categorized communities in themselves.
