Starting a new blog?

I've read that blogs are seen better by search engines, because of their continuous update.
We've tried this thing before but we've got little results.
We want to create a new blog. My main interest is to bring traffic for cratima website and new business for the company.
Before we'll decide to transform this thought into reality I have some questions.
1. Should we put the blog on Cratima 's domain name, on should I make a blog on blogspot, myspace...etc.
2. Regarding the content. We want the blog to be about new internet solution that can help new businesses. a) We can search the web, find out news, filtered them and then put the most interesting in our blog. b) We can add value to different news on the net, value from our knowledge and business.
c) Use both articles with added value and some funny stories related to the businesses.
3. How many blog administrators are necessary to make it interesting (with quality and enough information)

My opinions on Blogs are (They are overdone and abused). I can't stand seeing a blog on a main page and if I see it I leave. Your problem with SEO is your website. It's flash. Yes flash can be indexed now, but it isn't now nor do I think it will ever be 100% SEO friendly. Now if you have a static HTML Version of the site that the flash website takes the content from to show the clients then yes a blog would help out a lot.

Why does a blog help SEO?
Code to Content Ratio is the #1 reason. You'll have a lot more content that will help out with your ratings. Also, you'll have a LOT more words where you can reinforce your keywords.

I'm no SEO Expert or Guru but I have taken some sites from not ranked to 2nd position in the searches. (I just can't ever get first

I bet ROB owns those sites... lol)

I'd say host it on your own domain so it benefits the rest of your site. Traffic, links, etc will help your current site.

How many people will it take. Probably at least 2! Someone has to find the excellent content and someone has to put it up. This is going to be a rather large job however. So the more the merrier!

Very soon, following yours and others advices, we will have the HTML version of Cratima website. We do this because of the SEO benefits.

Well mate I to have the same views as you...plus having on same domain doesn't confuses your visitors..See what most people do is try to purchase all domains with the same name..like .net, .org, .com, .in , .co.in ..it really confuses a lot..stick to one..it helps in all way..

I prefer to use blogspot or other site where you can post your blog. It easy to have a link building with this kind of technique. And also, you can have social bookmarking site, it will draw traffic to your site.
