email marketing

Hi all

i have recently been asked to do the email marketing for the company im working for, the layout of the new letter is designed in firework then we be sending the emails outs via our contact mailing lists though microsoft outlook.

The how do i import the images to outlook so it appears the same as it looks in firework. i know php html css etc, just not sure how to do this task

In Fireworks you can export your whole image as an HTML file which you can import as template into Outlook and simply send.

BUT you have to make sure that the image is on the server first and the URL is absolute rather than relative ie, the full path name http://www.mysite.com/images/newsletter.gif

If you are slicing up the images, you need to do the same thing and add absolute pathnames to every image, including spacer images which Fireworks has an annoying habit of including.

I've had success easily creating HTML emails with an inexpensive software program called "mailthem". See http://www.mailthem.net

very good email marketing software also available here: www.emailreaction.com nothing to download as its a web based application - quite high end, supports dynamic content and everything but expensive so only worthwhile for the businesses with higher budgets.
