My client are one of the UK's largest publishing companies. They publish magazines that are right at the heart of UK culture selling in excess of 300 million magazines each year.
They are now looking to hire 2 middle weight PHP developers to work on various exciting projects. These roles are on a contract basis lasting a minimum of 3 months although the possibilty of this being extended is highly likely. One of these roles will be performing development/backend duties whilst the other will be more involved in front end/design.
You will need at least 3 years PHP and mySQL development experience, and at least 1 year with PHP5, a good knowledge of AJAX and Javascript, the ability to code semantic XHTML and CSS with some cross browser testing, a proven track record of developing substantial web based applications and/or database driven websites. It would also be an advantage if you are degree educated.
Desirable: Working knowledge of MVC Framework such as symfony, cake, seagull, zend framework etc, a good knowledge of a data persistence and Object Relational Mapping (ORM) layer, and user interface design skills.
