Applications Support Engineer

Duties Include:

• OpenWorks project creation and maintenance


• Expert in understanding Corporate Data Store/ Database in terms of maintenance, update and synchronisation


• Use of Landmark BCM software and other suppliers as required, tape stackers, OpenWorks/Finder/Geolog data loading and transfer routines and ftp to accomplish basic job responsibilities preparing 2D/3D navigation data for loading management of disk resources of selected seismic data servers and promotes new ideas and solutions to improve the overall data management environment.


• Modification and maintenance of the Landmark data environment in real time


• Periodically subsets 3D seismic volumes to meet internal requests for partner meetings, farmout presentations and to meet regulatory data requirements


• Troubleshooting data problems based on a firm grasp of interrelationships between Landmark applications and related data architecture


• Development, optimisation and documentation of data management practices related to data loading standards, data scaling and data redundancy.

*Candidates must possess:

• Experience in working in a similar form of Data Management support; preferential consideration given to those also having Oil and Gas industry exploration experience and demonstrable data management knowledge and skills.


• Solid demonstrable working knowledge and experience of two or more of: 1. Landmark Operworks, Seisworks 2. Paradigm Geolog 3. Gocad 4. VIP or other reservoir simulation tool 5. Oil industry economics tool 6. Compass


• UNIX/Linux Systems administration skills including scripting, awk, sed or perl.
