Junior Web Designer
Overall purpose of the role: A varied and fast-paced role working in an exciting and dynamic team of designers and developers based in Hertfordshire and 25 minutes from London. A creative individual with good coding skills is required to support the Senior Web Designer and Content Manager in regular day-to-day site updates, supporting graphics for the web-site along with designing and producing high quality HTML pages and the on-going development of the web-site. This role offers great development to the right candidate and would suit graduate or junior web designer looking to gain experience and develop their skills working for an established leading e-commerce website in a challenging role. Key Accountabilities: * Design, layout and code web pages to support the eCommerce production team * Design and produce buttons to promote editorial articles * Support Senior Web Designer and Content Manager in day-to-day running of web site. * Working on improvements to help develop the web site and improve quality of code, accessibility. * Provide support and cover for other functions within the production team. * Use the content management system to keep the web site updated and help meet team objectives. Skills/Attributes required for the role: * Intermediate demonstrable knowledge of Photoshop (or similar) required. * Experience of designing and building web pages using HTML and CSS required. * Must have good design skills. * Must be PC literate. * Must be an enthusiastic individual with desire to develop and progress. * Knowledge of web usability, W3C standards, WAI guidelines an advantage. * Relevant experience or degree an advantage. * Online/Offline portfolio an advantage. * Online copy writing skills a benefit.
