Freelance designing

Hi all,

I am a web designer and like to do freelance. I visited some sites like guru.com, elance.com, etc., First, i want to know how payments are done. Should we create an account there??. Also i need to know the entire process of how to search projects and submit our work and then the payments.

Can anybody help me in this????
