My client a global gaming organisation requires a Java Architect to lead the design and development of new systems. The Java Architect will also be responsible for maintenance and enhancement of existing systems and leading more junior staff. You will be a Java Architect or Senior Java Analyst Programmer with large system design experience. You will be highly technical and have a very hands-on approach with a proven track record of building and supporting a wide variety of back-end systems for commercial web applications using JEE (including EJB2.0/3.0, JSP, Servlets, Filters and Tag Libraries). Expected to have in-depth understanding of the full software development lifecycle, you will be committed to design, build and deployment excellence. Fluent with UML and common design patterns you will have an excellent understanding of process and development methods. With demonstrable examples of database design, particularly the latest versions of MySQL ? any DBA skills would be advantageous as would any systems administration-level knowledge of Apache, Linux and some Shell scripting. You will also have excellent communications skills, able to translate complex technical scenarios to a non-technical audience. Dynamic with high levels of initiative, you will ideally have either a billing or on-line authentication background, implementing e-commerce transactional solutions.
