Job Description
This position is for a systems engineer working in the Systems Engineering Team and will perform the following tasks within the team: support planning and scheduling of all systems engineering work, advise team lead how best to apply team skills, train junior systems engineers, conduct System of Systems analysis and architecture definition, define and conduct trade studies, develop comprehensive technical specifications at system, subsystem, and component levels, develop clear verification plans and test specifications, write clear reports of analysis and trade study results, prepare and deliver presentations to team leadership and program management.

Team scope includes the following types of work:
· System of Systems analysis and architecture definition using the MoDAF
· Comprehensive requirements development and management throughout the development lifecycle
· Engineering tradeoff analysis to support design and development of a new/legacy combat capabilities
· Coordinated teamwork with the analysis team to incorporate analytical findings into the architecture and requirements baseline
· User needs analysis and user surveys
· Decision support in the form of ?quick response analysis?
· Training needs analysis
· Combat platform survivability and supportability analysis
· Deployment analysis for rapidly deployable British forces
· Concept development as it relates to evolving net enabled capabilities for medium weight forces
· Analysis of interoperability within British forces and among allies
· Through Life Capability Management model development and support
· Competitor assessments
· Comprehensive verification planning and specification of test activities to ensure compliance with all system, subsystem, and component level requirements
· User-centered analysis, development, and integration, including all human-systems integration activity
· Conduct of planned integration and test/verification activity

Competencies
Key competencies include: architecture analysis and specification using the MoDAF and commercially available framework specification tools; knowledge and ability to apply relevant network centric architecture specifications and standards; specification of complete requirements baselines for large systems; large-scale systems integration; ability to synthesize and optimize system concepts within defined cost, schedule, and technical risk parameters; assess design risks and develop risk management strategies; adapting to changing environments; building positive relationships with peers, subordinates, and customers; developing and applying quantitative methods such as analysis, experimentation and simulation to customer needs; focusing on and understanding the customer; clear decision making; organising teams and projects; and systems thinking.

Education
Bachelor's degree and 8 to 12 years' related work experience, a Master's degree in Systems Engineering and 8 to 12 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
