Custom scrollbars in JavaScript

Hi, I've been trying to make my own website and I've hit a problem I can't work out. I want to have a custom scrollbar within my web page (with gif images that I have created myself) and as far as I understand, that needs to be done with JavaScript. I have no idea how to use JavaScript so could someone please tell me what I need to do to put a custom scrollbar on my page?

I've looked at some websites with a custom scrollbar and noticed that they placed the scrollbar using div layouts but I have iframes on my website. Can I apply a custom scrollbar to an iframe?

Well this site (although not to pretty) has some code and examples for some thing like this. I'm not sure how well it'ss work since I don't mess around with scrollbars and dragging objects much in js but you can give it a go.
