Question Dynamic moving rollover

Hi all,
I'm working on a website where I am not to use any flash . Yet there are some complex things going on in the navigation area. I need to control an image of an arrow to smoothly rotate around a center axes (circular navigation) to point to each text rollover. There also is another navigation area where a different image will smoothly slide over each text rollover. This last one was easy for me to put together with DHTML. So my question is does anyone know of a way to use DHTML to animate an image to rotate around an axes in a smooth way triggered by a mouse event?

Re: Dynamic moving rollover

You could use javascript and an animated gif but why would you want to do that rather than use Flash?
Flash would seem to be the better option.

Have a look HERE.
Click the middle option which will open a new window, click either of the two resolution options you see.
Another new window will open with a button in the middle which I think is similar to what you're thinking of.
If you activate it, you will then see how the designer has incorporated it into his navigation further into his site.

Re: Dynamic moving rollover

In general flash is not a good option for navigation in cases where SEO and accessability are important. I'm really looking for a way to do it with css, xhtml, and a little Javascript (so DHTML). What I'm doing is taking an image of a compass with each text navigation in where the North East West South areas are and having the pointer rotate around. Like I said I do not want to use flash but use DHTML similar to what this guy does - http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menu/index.html
