Calling functions with variable?

Is it possible to call a function with a variable. For example this works:

var myfunc = function() {
    alert("Hello!");
}

function call_function(func) {
   func();
}

call_function(myfunc);

But can you do it without defining the function as a variable? Can you just do function myfunc instead of myfunc = function()?

Yep. Just tried this code in Firebug and it worked:

function myfunc() {
    alert("Hello!");
}

function call_function(func) {
   func();
}

call_function(myfunc);

You might wanna check it out in IE though... this is exactly the sort of thing MS likes to mess us around with.
