JavaScript Gurus...Can this be done?

Hi there,
I'm a newbie to WF, but have been developing websites for 7 years.

I've created a new site and the client wants a slide show of the main image but wants people to be able to click on the thumbnails to the right of the main image to be able to change the order if the slide show if they desire. I don't think I want to create two flash files for this and I'm not to up on XML enough to enable clicking on html based img tags to prompt a change in the flash file

I will be coding this XHTML 1.0 strict and tableless btw.

Does anyone have recs on a premade JS script for this?

I've attached a sample pict of the sites design.

thanks-
Anita

I'm not quite sure from your description what exactly you want, but I had at go http://www.iliveinabin.com/SlideShow/slideshow.html
If that's not what you wanted please say and I'll have another try, but I'm only a beginner.

Wow what a gifted beginner. Pretty much on the money, though the client wants a fade transition. Thank you thank you.

check out the script.aculo.us framework. It has some easy-to-implement fade effects.

http://moofx.mad4milk.net/ would be a very good choice. It's MUCH much lighter weight than scriptaculous and prototype especially if all you need is effects.
