Setting up to run javascript
Hi
I知 writing a website in Frontpage and I知 using a javascript to publish some web content. Do I need something installed on my PC to get javascript to run properly? At the moment, when I preview my website via Frontpage, I get an error. However, once I publish it, everything works fine. I知 at a loss. Can somehelp please? Thanks. |

Re: Setting up to run javascript
Javascript is a client-side language ... therefore it runs on the clients machine given that javascript will be enable via the browser. So ... with that being said; no, you don't need anything installed on your computer.
However ... FP won't run javascript. I strongly suggest you stop using Front page to create you website. There are better HTML Editors out there. WYSIWYG editors like Front page tend to generate non-standard code. And therefore result in your site not looking very good in all major browsers like IE(6 & 7), Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc... Using Dreamweaver and the likes |

Re: Setting up to run javascript
Thanks for the explanation. I'm only using FrontPage in the very short-term 'cos I happened to have it on my PC. Hoping to use something else later on. Perhaps Dreamweaver.
