could you tell me - what is an addon cgi ? when refered to in cpannel, as i recieve this every morning

An add on CGI (Common Gateway Interface) is a script that is added to your basic hosting set-up in order to provide additional features.
I'm assuming you receive this in the form of an email. To start with I would have a look at the headers of the email to see if it actually originates from where you think it does. As it stands, the whole thing looks a little odd and may will be some kind of elaborate scam. Let us know what you find.

my host seems to have sorted this 9 week fault now ( took him long enough - half dozen requests )

you are totally right, and i am in the middle of looking for one, but i have a limit of about £4.00 per month and i have no deposit - i also want fantastico on top of all the usual stuff - also i need someone that will move my database and domain for me ( as i dont have a clue on how to do it ) - could you recammend anyone ?
