Re: Help re CIW
Is it just me or are most guru's self taught? I'd be real careful before spending cash on a course without serious checks. As ironic as it may be, i'd avoid online courses unless you can verify the quality.

Re: Help re CIW
Well also most courses that schools teach, for example let's say your community collage. They will teach you HTML, and about making tables, and frames. But frames and tables, are now a BIG NO NO in website design. Really you should be learning XHTML, and CSS. Then if you want to make some big bucks, you could try taking some flash courses. Here are some great flash tutorials...
http://www.webforumz.com/flash-forum...ning-flash.htm But most website designers I know are self taught, and even if they have a degree, they won't get hired unless they have a really good portfolio and build in current standards. So build up your portfolio and code clean and neat. But anyway, I would probably just teach myself XHTML, CSS, PHP, and Photoshop, and maybe Fireworks. Then also don't forget flash, my personal favorite. |
