not sure where this goes...

My roomate has to reformat her PC, had a lot of viruses. She has the original Install Disk of WIndows XP. She doesn't know how to reformat her computer nor do I. Can someone post a lstep by step tutorial/link on how to wipe her drive and reinstall Windows XP? Thank.s

One thing: If you're machine won't boot from the CD, you probably won't have your motherboard manual. The most common ways to enter motherboard setup are by pressing DEL or F1 when you first turn on the computer, moving to a menu and setting up CDROM as the first boot device.

Yeah, it's not letting her install Windows XP form the disk. She may have to do that motherboard F1/DEL thing. Thanks, we'll give it a whirl. Peace.

'Enter Motherboard setup' is also mor commonly known as 'entering the bios'

Just be careful what you change in there.
