Hi,
Just joined the forums. Made a few bad websites in the past few years, (that I never update!)... but now just trying to make a good website for my wife's Graphic Design business - no pressure there then - not like it has to look good or anything!
I actually run a computer repair and upgrade business, so making websites are really just for fun.... (although I guess I get money from my computer business through people finding mine).
I'm looking to pick up some tricks and skills to make my
XHTML &
CSS up to scratch, for the new website, and then maybe, I'll work backwards updating all the old ones.
Anyway, that's me and why I'm here, so on to my question.
In the guidelines it says:
Quote:
Username Policy- No Domain names in signatures
- No advertising in signatures, eg. Free_Windows_Hosting
If your present signature is in violation of the above, please amend it ASAP.
Signature Policy- Maximum characters, 300
- Maximum lines, 2 (at 800 x 600)
- You are permitted to link to your website but dont use more than 2 links.
- No images allowed
- Keep advertising to a bare minimum!
- No Prices WHATSOEVER allowed
For instance, we may frown on:
The cheapest and best professional web design in Georgia
However, this would be acceptable:-

I'm guessing there is a typo in there somewhere, and that the first section is meant to say, "no domains in usernames" not in signatures. The second section is clearly about Signatures.
Depending on how you read that, basically I wanted to know if I'm allowed my username. My naff business website is at "myusername.co.uk", so I tend to use that name on webforums. However, if that isn't allowed I'll change the username.
I'd appreciate someones take on the rules.
Thanks
Mike
