I work fulltime and I am trying to complete my website. So when I get home from work at 6PM and get on my home computer about 9PM, you can only imagine what time I PULL myself away. Well I can say I see the sun coming up.(Sound Familiar)
Okay, to get to my question..hoe can I ....see I can't even spell! Can I access my web site from my home computer to my office computer? This way I can work on my web site before it is uploaded to the web? I have Front Page 2003. Thank you Faygirl |

Re: How can I access....
Either you could slave-link one p.c. to the other, or copy the file to cd and swap it from one to the other as you finish a particular bit.
Linking p.c.'s can be fiddly and leaves you open to certain security issues (plus your company I.T. Dept will probably have, what is technically referred to as, "a cow"). [edit: would mean leaving both switched on as well] Last edited by Legacy_Staff; Aug 4th, 2006 at 15:46. |

Thank you all for assisting this middle age young mind web addict. However, I did download the site on a usb storage cruzer and as I went back and forth (copy, copy, copy copy etc.. I lost something along the way.
You know what, FrontPage may have lost all of my data the last time I tried to copy my info. Anyway I lost all my images and some data. Can I switch web pages to a different program if I already have them in Front Page? Also am I getting this web css thing when I dicover the joys of cut and base? See I am sleepy. I really meant cut and paste. Seriously, Thats for the input. You know we do work on a company server. Can they really see what we do? Faygirl |

Re: How can I access....
Of course you can continue working in some other program like nvu or dreamweaver. About company spying,it is posible but can ask around, etc. network administrator or someone on similar position but i dont believe that they are doing that.

Re: How can I access....
Would I simply cut and paste all of my pages into NVU or dreamweaver? I do have Nvu but I have not mastered css enough to use it.

This is due to the amount of perv's and paedo's who've been caught using company equipment for their activities. This is a serious risk of bad publicity to companies. I have been involved in checking and tracing such activities and am delighted to claim responsibility for one such being detained at her majesty's pleasure. It's not done all the time, but if your company operates such a policy you will likely find that checks are done every so often at random (unless there is a specific reason to direct a search toward a specific area). |
