Wink Hello from Cratima!

Hello people!

My name is Olivian Breda and I represent Cratima. I will say just two words on Cratima: we have two specialized IT Divisions: Cratima Software and Cratima Interactive.

About me: I am Romanian, born in Bucharest.
I am a Licentiate of the Faculty of International Business and Economics, with the ideal job within the PR department of a multinational company, at which I will add value using the knowledge and experience within the LEADERS Romania and the Master program.

Right now I do a Master in Communication and Public Relations. The master is within the College of Communication and Public Relations (State University of Political and Administrative Studies). I will study on electronic materials, I only have to be present in the College at the exams.

I am passionate for the study of psychology, for theater (acting and watching) and for surfing the Internet. Concerning music I especially like Belinda CARLISLE, Frank SINATRA and Bonnie TYLER.

I'm sure we'll have a very nice bond and I can barely wait starting to write on the forums.

Regarding the company I proudly represent:
Times change and, along with them, the market's needs, too. A generally valid truth, that we have acknowledged and so we have transformed XcellenceIT into Cratima. Based on XcellenceIT's platform, and idea ahead its time, Cratima embodies a new identity with a fresh look meant to open new opportunities and, moreover, to enhance the connexion between our client community and us. The new brand, born from the dialog based bridge concept, wishes to obtrude our idea about the true IT solutions, namely they have to solve problems, regardless of the user's level of qualification, and they have to be delivered on time.

Thus, Cratima launched a new web site, in line with its new identity. Interactive and easy to use, the web site manages to combine an excellent design with a complete functionality. The aim of this web site is similar to the idea behind Cratima. Therefore, if by Cratima we try to open a connection bridge and reinforce the relation between our clients and us, the web site is the visual interface of the same idea: the bridge idea.

Yes, you do need Flash plugin to properly view the web site.

Re: Hello from Cratima!

Not stubborn, his target audience isn't web designers.. its ordinary people with a higher likelyhood of not having flash installed...
Its just a case of making a website usable, the site can be done in xhtml, bar the transitions, so whats the need for flash when you could create a website everyone can view?
Its just a case of thinking about more people.

Re: Hello from Cratima!

Craig EVERY site can be done in xhtml, if you strip it of all animation.

But this site uses the animation to good effect. Just because u dont like flash (and probably cant do it) doesnt mean you should turn everyone away from it.

Get over your ego and learn it for gods sake.

Re: Hello from Cratima!

No it just highlights your narrow mindedness.

If you cant use a technology and know nothing about it then dont say anything.

Re: Hello from Cratima!

I dont see you coming out with any if these briliant flash sites that your so good at... and even if you did, you'd be subject to complaints about people having to go thru the task of downloading more programs to their computer just to see your piece of trash.
I think you have something against me personally more than anything... get over what ever it is... you're a hell of a lot better than me.

Re: Hello from Cratima!

No, its just that this is a web design forum and therefore we should accept all forms of web design.

Everytime someone has shown a flash website (and there has even been some top notch ones) it gets blindly flamed by people who couldnt even dream of making a site like it. People just seem to flame flash for the sake of it without knowing the in's and out's.

And i am actually good at flash, my latest site im working on at the moment has some flash animation and slideshows etc, its just that i dont do flash unless the client has asked for a flash website.

Re: Hello from Cratima!

I think this is very much an SEO forum too.
Now lets go to google and type in "flash website"... if flash websites are great for SEO (like you say) in theory the top ten sites should all be flash based.
...
And there we have it, only 2 out of the top 10 sites are flash based, does that not show you xhtml sites are a lot better for SEO?

Re: Hello from Cratima!

No. Considering that most of the web is made of html site im astounded that theres actually 2 flash sites in the top 10.

When have i ever said Flash sites were great for SEO?

You probably dont have a good understanding of SEO, but actual on page optimization doesnt count for much. As long as your targetting a keyword and you have lots of backlinks the site will do great in SEO.

Most movie sites and band sites are made in flash.

Try putting in a search for your fav band's and movies and see what comes up. Most of the time the official site will be top, and most of the time the site will be flash.

And flash sites can be accessible

Re: Hello from Cratima!

Dave is correct, you do really know nothing about SEO. The fact you hold the pretense of knowledge is bad enough, but, I shall educate you.

Flash can be indexed. No, its not as good as pure text, and a search engine will have ahard time with it, but it will be indexed!

Putting this minor problem aside, what should it matter. If we all were like you craig, and designed how you feel is best, the web would indeed be a bland talentless environment, which in many ways sums up your abilitys as a designer.

A flash plugin is essentially is tiny to download. Its not a program anyway, so get your terminology right.

Im not starting a flash Vs html debate, so don’t even go there craig…

I think the statement your making is narrow minded. Sure, some wont have flash installed, but its not a hard task. Perhaps a message explaining the user needs flash to view would have been desirable Cratima. or a text only site? (lofi)

Cratima – don’t listen to craig. He really has no idea what he is on about. Sorry you had to have such a heated post in your first post – the community is generally not as NARROW MINDED as craig….

Temp ban and bad rep on its way…
