Introduction
My name is Ross Hall. I'm a management and technology consultant based in the UK who does a lot of work within the UK insurance industry.
My primary role is in the reengineering of business processes, but this usually extends in to areas of eCommerce and eMarketing, as well as data protection, distance selling and other regulatory issues. I don't tend to "cut code" for my clients, although I do the functional and logical designs, and the back end processes. If you've designed a website in the past few years for someone in Insurance and had to comply with "General Insurance Standards Council regulation" then I'm the one who had to put the eCommerce regulation together. Not an easy task with 30-odd people in the insurance world fighting over the details! I also run the Broker's IT Forum, edit the webzine "Just Commercial" and can be seen on conference platforms from time to time proclaiming the benefits of everything from regulation to eCommerce to customer service! You'll also have come across my papers and articles in places like Insurance Times, Better Business and the Telegraph. I'm hoping to stay in touch with what people are thinking in the world of web design and hope to learn more than I contribute. Regards, Ross Hall.

Hi there,
"What are you current web design /development skills? What web / server technologies are you involved with?" I work on the KISS principle - HTML (of course), some Perl & Javascript. Anything more complicated I tend to outsource. My skills are in business process design, management and regulatory compliance rather than web development per se. Ross ;-))
