Re: new and on the prowl....
Hi belle,
Welcome to the forums. Could you be a bit more specific? What experience do you exactly have in web design? Are you a student, or professional? Have you started designing a website or graphic? See you around, Robert |

Re: new and on the prowl....
hello robert!
i guess i should have included a little more in my introduction. im currently a second year pre-med student in the philippines. we had an introductory class to computers first sem of my first year, but the furthest we went in web design was using the design mode of frontpage -- and our professor was a frame addict! so where does web design come in right? haha! well my dad has built some townhouses in our area and now we're trying to sell them. and thats how my dabbling in real web design began. the first site i made used inline frames. i didnt know any better. hehe.. then i started reading some articles on SEO and learned inline frames are a no no. so i learned about tables and re-did the whole site in a couple of days. THEN i learned about CSS and seperating structure from style. thats where i really got a headache. im talking major migraine here. (good thing im on my summer vacation though) so far its not much, im going to change the basic structure this weekend and also do more on SEO. when im done with that, i'll try to make it look more professional, hopefully with the help i can find here. but of course, i want to help some others first. well, thats basically what im working on, why and how far i've come. i just want to help my parents out with selling these houses. and besides... if we dont, i can kiss med school goodbye... *belle EDIT: holy ****, we're not listed on google anymore. can someone tell me why?? Re: new and on the prowl....
since my site has been listed on google, it has always been in the top 10 results for the keywords we target for. last night i did some mock searches with results that made me a very happy person. and now...... even when i search the URL, i get nothing! my site has officially disappeared. even form yahoo. is there something wrong with google? did I do something wrong? what do i do? what do i do? (in case you haven't picked up on it yet, im very frantic at the moment... someone calm me down please...) |

Re: new and on the prowl....
i have had some suggestions of paying for a domain name. i dont mind that. but do i have to pay for a domain name and for hosting too for google to take the site seriously? (aside from of course other factors like backlinks etc)
