Hi everybody
hi, my name is Rick and I have taught myself a little about html and css. I want to increase my knowledge about web design because my partner is a budding writer and wants to be more visible on the web. Occupationally I'm a nurse so my learning curve I think is gonna be very steep, but hope to increase the speed of my understanding via this forum  |

If you ever have any particular HTML or CSS questions, make sure to browse through the forums or post a thread if you're really stuck! (there's always someone about to help  )
Also, don't forget the stickies in each forum - these are full of links and goodies to all sorts of tutorials and articles!

You are in the right place, I run a website for student midwives and am embarking on one for midwives and I have zilcho IT background but Rob and the guys on here are brilliant at what they do so you'll have all the help you need
Does your partner write fiction? poems? ....

Thanks for the welcome!, it's good to know that there are masters of html and css out there. I gotta say messing around with html is a lot of fun and I've astounded my workmates with geekyness.
My partner writes both poems and fiction and it's all going rather well at the moment so I want to improve her site.

Thanks Josie, she will be delighted by your response . I hope to vastly improve the site by getting my head round some serious html and css. I learned how to embed video's into my web site the other day and it felt like a major breakthrough. The fab thing about html is that the results can be so sudden and spectacular....when I saw the video appear on my web page for the first time I nearly fell off my chair Very exciting.
Yeah, I'm really encouraging my geek image at the moment, Maybe I'll buy an html t-shirt next

Brilliant!!! I am learning from the master (lol thats Rob - King Geek - my partner) and am very lucky that he loves what he does, so happily tinkers away on my site when I need a hand. LOL @html tshirt!! I want one that says I love Geeks!
