Complete website design help

Im not sure that this is the right forum but:

Right, im running www.upfc.co.uk
and at the moment it is done with shity PHPnuke (and not very well)

i want it to look like this (in a "here's one i made earlier" photoshop mockup):



with:

• easily updatable news on the front page (php style)
  Easily updatable +interactive calendar
  Decent forum
  menu animated (so hoverover colour is the darkest you see and when you click a section and it has extra bits, it expands like the teams bit)
  easily updatable gallery.
  content faily easy to update (stuff in the white section)

all this as it needs to be easily maintainable by several people with respect to news etc, and i have no idea where to start

ive just got my head around PHPnuke and im not that great with anything else, so any help is very much appreciated.

Then change the CSS so that the navigation is displayed as a block, then you can define the colours you want.
Use the top image that you have don in photoshop and get rid of the current one.
Play around with the index file and take out any of the code that you dont need and take away some of those borders.
All CMS's can easily be modded by simply going thru the index file and the CSS file then simply creating the images.
Although you say you have just got your head round this, have you heard of Joomla? That would be perfect for that site that you are looking to create. The navigation and layout is very similar to a website we have created, www.prestonconservatives.com and this was created with Joomla.

i say i have my head around it, i can only do the basic stuff, i would have no idea onn how to get the site looking like i want it to.

i am more than happy to move away from PHP nuke (am checking it joomla out now)

i just really want the website to look how i want it to.
(i dont really want to have distictive modules again, i want it to look as it does in the picture, intermingled)

any more help and/or assistance is appreciated

Joomla is the greatest cms, you can do anything that you want. Try it out.
