New to HTML, ASP and CSS

Hi all,

I'm a completely new person to HTML, ASP and CSS. I have not got all the ideas how to make a good-looking and proper-functioning website. I have just been advised to use Dreamweaver 8 as this is one of the most powerful web development tool.

Can someone recommend me anything about this? And when desiging a website, should I design a draft design, coding and then redesign again? Because, if I spend too much time on designing the outter face, it would again take me time to learn some other drawing tools. Any recommendations???

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forums.
It depends, some people prefer to make the functions first and the design after and some the other way around.

No ain't that the question . Not surprised you got recommend dreamweaver it is very popular. Although I don't use it I got Nvu but that because its free (open source and still in development) and I like to hand code more then anything.
Like sypher said it more on preference how you like to work or which way you are more productive. I prefer going like this contents>layout>colors>graphics>code although some things can overlap at times.

Re: New to HTML, ASP and CSS

thanks for all the code and that's quite useful. However, i think for me, a new one to this, i think design the main frame for the website and coding at the same time would be more efficient because sometimes, if there's something else better, it would be such a waste of time for redoing all the things have been done in the desgining stage.

oh, by the way, would macromedia firework a good tools for web graphics???
