Still not getting recognised by google
I created a website about a month ago. It is a very simple one. I did it in a few minutes using Frontpage. I am a consulting engineer and not many firms in my business have websites as most of our work is got by personal recommendation and most of us do not need websites. In fact many firms deliberately do not have websites as it would only serve the purpose of telling competitors about what you are doing and thus can be harmful to the sucess of the firm.
Anyway, I created a site to promote a certain part of my business. A part which I need top attract business from all over the Uk or even the world. However I find that I cannot get recognised by any of the search engines, even though I have registered with Google and several more (maybe 20 in total). It looks as if I am doing something very wrong! I have free webspace from BT yahoo. That gives me a website starting with http://home and not the usual http://www. I have also registered a domain name with "UKReg" which starts http://www. and it links to the BT Yahoo webpage. I can get to my site from either the http://www. or http://home address. However, It does not come up on any search engine. I have put in tag words and phrases and still nothing. Can anybody help me. best regards ISD7 |

Re: Still not getting recognised by google
You need to change the domains nameservers or if they dont have nameservers, get a web host.
Its because you are using domain forwarding its not reading the page. |

Re: Still not getting recognised by google
You login to your control panel (of the site you bought the domain through) so you would go to ukreg website, login.
There would be an option there for 'Change Nameservers' You put the info in there. Now i doubt BT will give you nameservers as they usually only come wih proper hosting. So you may need to get real hosting to get nameservers. |
