Adding music to a Web Page
Hi Guys
I need a little advice here i would like to add music to a web page and having had a good look around the site i see that flash is the best way for a newb like me. I have already tried this using flash as i wanted to add a song and some pictures, but i wanted people to hear the whole song and listen to the words. hence i then ended up creating a full movie just for the song. Then realised the file was far too big especially if someone was on a 56k connection. I now decided to just have the begining frame with pictures and a short snipet of music about a minuet and half in total I will then create a gallery with thumbnails and have music playing in the background while people view the pics Howeverthe song might not be to everyones taste i would therefore like to add player controls or a stop/start button Can you please point me in the direction of a tutorial here is my original attempt as you will see it is far too big and never came to fruision http://homepage.ntlworld.com/t.carden |

Re: Adding music to a Web Page
A little bit of Google brought this up.
http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/fla...hmx_video.html I'm sure the entire tutorial is overkill for your needs, but a little ways down the page talks about inserting 'Play' & 'Stop' buttons. I hope it helps and welcome to the forums. |

Re: Adding music to a Web Page
Cheers herkalees for that i will read through it actually looks very good and it may be very useful for a project i hoping to try at a later date with Video.
However having spent the last 2 days reading the posts on this site i've come to the conclusion that the more i read the more i realise just how little i know, but i have found the answers to two problems i've had for a while, which are now sorted and will stand me in good stead for future ventures. I've yet to solve one other problem i have, which i didn't even realise was a problem till now lol but that is an HTML error, having found W3C Validation. I therefore now realise i need to learn HTML & CSS. A Big Thank You to all for creating this forum i think i'm gonna be spending alot of time around here. Incidently having followed a few links from this site i also found some software called "Coffee Cup JukeBox" which has some brilliant skins you have a choice of a black or white ipod or a standard music player, and one or two more which look like a winamp player, although you need to upload the correct HTML with the file. i need to read and learn lol Plus i'm a bit old school i do better from books rather than the net therefore can you all recommend a few books i can look at Last edited by Towbar; Mar 12th, 2006 at 16:49. |
