How do i make my bookmark icon for my site appear as a logo in the favourites list?

Hi everyone,

A quick technical question. I would like to have an icon for my site in the favorites list (like this forums hand icon). I have no idea how to do this!!! Any help gratefully received.

What you need is something called a favicon. You need to create an image and place it in the root directory of your website. In your code you should then help the browser to locate the favicon to display.

HTML: Select all

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

The important aspect of this is you have to save your image as a .ico file. This can be done with most graphic editors, even Paint, you just type the filename with the extension, so when you save the file, type in, "favicon.ico" and this is how it should save.
