Thumbs up Changing career

Hello All,
I have been interested in web design and development for a number of years, the first site i did was in 1996 (using frontpage), it was clunky but i published it!
i gave up my work a couple of years ago (food process technolgy) due to family commitments. I started a course in January (CIW website manager) which has impoved my HTML and XHTML as well as learning Javascript and Perl, I am now about half way through the course and getting to the point where I need to apply my newly learnt skills. My objective is now to build a portfolio of URLs and extend my skill set
If anyone needs help with site development and design etc I am ready willing and able!!
If you would like to see my CV (which needs to be updated to include JavaScript and Perl don't hesitate click now!! http://uk.geocities.com/hondapants3/

Re: Changing career

Welcome aboard, DP. Head down and just go for it.

It's useful to put your CV on-line: lots do it now, but as it's your public face and a first impression, it needs to stand out. You have a number of typos and grammatical errors.

Good luck with the career change!

Re: Changing career

Hi ya, DPhahn,
Now that you have some schooling, you can start really learning the skill of web design. Good luck on your journey and if you have questions, ask.

Re: Changing career

I wonder if I can get any certifications at my age.
I know I can do those microsoft certified professional ones.
They like £150 to do though I think
Welcome by the way, and good luck !

Re: Changing career

I wouldn't worry about doing any certifications at your age Alex, you've got enough to do with school work and exams!

Well I have a tap dancing one and...oh, you mean web-related right? No, I'm preferring to just teach myself what I need to know now, with the help of Webforumz of course

Is that you in your avatar?

Jacob, I think you will need to purchase a cage for Vanessa (as the closet seems to be awfully full at the moment).
