Hi...from Gorgeous Mike!

Hi everyone,

Just saying hello as I'm new here on the site.

My name is Mike, I live on the edge of the Cotswolds in Oxfordshire in the UK. I've just decided to move into website building and design after 18 years running my own signmaking and vehicle graphics business.

I've bought all the gear, a whole heap of software, a few trees worth of reference books and done a few courses to get me started but the rest I'll pick up as I go along...well, try!

The artwork side of things doesn't worry me too much (even if everything's gunna look like the side of a truck to start with - cus of my former business!) but I am having to 'cram' HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator...

I've done a couple of sites already but only managed to get a flash intro on my own (ain't that always the way) - still learning that bit o' software too!

As I'm coming at all this 'blind' - I was hoping to find a forum where I could ask questions - some no doubt stupid - and maybe get some 'buddy' help from a few of you as time goes on...it's Ok, you can all come out from behind the sofa...I'm promise not to bother you all of the time...honest.

Anyway, thanks for reading this and I look forward to taking part...

Sorry, should have explained - I chose the name 'Gorgeous Studios' for my new business...

It seems to make folk giggle when I tell 'em - but I know they'll mention it to others...and that's what matters!...

I quite like it actually (both your username and your business name). It certainly sends out the right message.

I watched a spoof video recently about a design studio staffed by extremely talented and attractive people. One of them said "Is my design beautiful because I'm beautiful or am I beautiful because my design is beautiful?... I think it's probably a bit of both."

It made me laugh, maybe it could be your company tagline.
