Hello!, I'm very new to coding but very keen!

I'm new to website coding and have been using dreamweaver (mostly in code mode, but a fair amount in design mode.) I'm really just an artist, wanting to apply my skills to web design. I have created my first site which is a portfolio of my work.

It seems to work well in safari and firefox, but in IE7 you have to scroll down in order to use the transport bar (which is essential to view the seperate images in each project).

I would really appreciate it if anyone could suggest ways of reducing the size of the visual site (as each entire page is supposed to be seen, without the user having to scroll down)

First off: I like your artwork! I'm trying stuff in Illustrator myself, but I'm not that great yet.. MayB you can help me with that

As for your site: I looks good, but that just on the surface.. You're using image-maps, which means you have just 1 big image to load, which is not that great for the site performance.

Try snooping around in the css-forum and see if you can convert your pages tot CSS, that would improve page-loadingspeed and useability..

My images are very large aswell - some even 300kb, so I guess, I need to reduce those too. Thanks for complementing me on my artwork - it means a lot. Best, Al

Welcome firstly, website, you need to title your pages, I can't stress that enough, it can ruin a site so quickly seeing Untitled Document instead of 'goodbodycreate-portfolio' etc, do it and the initial look will be more appealing to the general public viewing. There will be more said if you place your site in the correct page, but thought I would mention this as I had not seen it in the critique section.
