New member need html-wav help

Well I'm a new member and if anybody knows about wav files and html maybe you can help. I want to post on a forum that takes html posts. I want to post multiple pictures and multiple short wav files. I can do this with no problem using <img src> and <bgsound> or <embed>. The problem comes with the multiple wav files. What I need to do is get a space of time say 3 or 4 or 5 seconds between wavs. I am hoping there is a way to do this without using a java script or something I am not competent in. I can post, well lets say three short sound effects like a fog horn, a train whistle, or bell ringing. But when I post them they play in quick succession one after the other--I need a pause in time for effect. I can get wavs galore off the web,but I have never seen a sound effect wav that is linkable or downloadable that contains just silence. Silence IS a sound effect. Actually this is going to be a Christmas card with multiple pictures and I am going to use short midi carols or music wavs and the card will have to be srcolled down to see all the pictures, but I need to include a pause of various time, when one stops and the other begins. How does this work?/ Does anybody know a sound effects web site that includes a wav of silence???? need to know if there is a way to do it with just old html without getting into java or something else, any help appreciated--rateye

I'd either do it in flash (I don't know how, but I know it's possible), or re-record your wavs in a simple audio editing program, and simply add silence where you want, then resave as a .wav file.

Well I guess what I am saying is I am very limited in my skills as to making files, storing them and my html is limited--basically what I do is link them from one site to the site I post on--ie I steal them. Some pages like Soundameica ,com won't let you link to them they cut you off, you go back to your post and your sound wav is missing ( or their wav is missing to be precise). I don't like those people. But other sites many wavs are available free and for the taking. I think there is supposed to be w ay to get around the way soundamerica blocks the linking of their sounds but that is above my abilities at this time and involves a little java, or so I am told. Really though there is no need to use soundamerica when many places are better and legal to direct link to. But all I really need is a wav of silence for a certain duration and I can't understand why I can't find one. Then all one would have to do is embed a wav of silence between two audible wavs to get a pause for effect. It doesn't have to be complicated but it seems it's getting that way. Thanks rateye

Flash is the way to go, can be done in a few secs. Just add the sound, skip a few frames add the next and so on.
