Question HELP!!!! I am pulling my hair out with meta tags

I joined this forum today in the hope that someone would be able to help me.

I have a website and I can't optimise it on search engines because I just don't understand the meta tags.

Can someone out there come to my assistance....PLEASE!

I also have an e-book on winning the adwords game with lots of useful advice on getting your site to the top of the search engine list, if anyone wants the use of it then please send me a pm and i will e-mail it to you.

Here's hoping someone can help me.

[edit: rob] Please dont use big bold text for an entire post. It's considered shouting.

Why not head on over to the general SEO forum and find the sticky topic for search engine optimisation basics. If you have any questions, please post in that forum.

Welcome to the forums
META tags dont have much use with search engines these days. Only the description really.

Using content throughout your site which utilizes the keywords you want to be searched on is a very effective way of being ranked.
