Hey. I joined a few days ago, so I figured I'd introduce myself. My name's Blake, and I'm currently a software programmer at DePauw University, where I recently graduated from with a degree in Computer Science. I write programs that faculty, staff, students, and alums use to do stuff like register for classes, donate money, and apply for acceptance. Not my dream job, since it's pretty boring, and I don't get to express hardly any creativity through design, but it pays the bills. I'm also working parttime as a web designer for a small newspaper company that is trying to get into creating websites for churches and small businesses. I'm hoping it will take off in the next half year, so I can do it fulltime when my contract with DePauw is up.
This forum seems like it has a lot of good information that's pretty well categorized for someone like me, since I'm working in (S)HTML, ASP, PHP, Flash, CSS, and MySQL, and I'm always trying to find new tools and techniques to use. Hopefully I can find some pretty cool ideas for design and implementation, and possibly give some advice as well.

Hey Blake! Welcome and thanks for dropping in!
Sounds like you have a lot of exciting things coming up, and you picked the right spot for resources (in old posts and new), practice in your coding, etcetera, and help other growing developers simultaneously! Feel free to ask around! Hope you enjoy the place, and I hope you get to unleash some of that creativity you've been keeping locked up for so long now!
