hello everyone . search engine help?

hello
anyone can help me ?
i don t know where to start. because i m using Front page and found it verry limited when it comes to search engine because i have to use front page server extentions.witch i dont want.

could anyone please tell me what language do i have to learn in order to make my one search engine, or any other options not available in front page?
where to start from?
is it html i have to learn?
of java
of php?

Not sure I understand what you're asking here.

Are you creating a search engine? Or do you want to optimise your site for search engines?

I think you are probabally looking to create a search featuire for your website.

If that is the case then you need to learn either ASP, PHP, JSP, etc...

Or... instead of re-inventing the wheel, signup to google's search feature that will allow you to utilise google's search technology on your own website (and prolly make a few quid)

You will need to learn a server side scripting language.

You will need to decide whether you wish to have a search feature index your files and store an index in a database, or actually traverse the filesystem in real time per search.

Either way, you are looking at pretty advanced coding and you do not yet know any scripting.

I would highly recommend using google sitesearch on your website.
