first post and ASP.net question
Can I introduce myself and say hello !
I teach web design at a fairly simplistic level using NotePad (CSS based controlling DIVs mainly) I want to now show my students active server type pages using the likes of ASP or PHP. I use Brinkster and have done a few experiments with ASP and ASP.NET and I have made a simple guest book that writes to a text file via a form. This was in Classic ASP, not asp.net What I would really like to do is to show the students some simple asp.net examples that we could experiment with. The problem is however, the fact that I have to work within the constraits of a college network and an even tighter constraint of no money. This is further compounded by the fact that I cannot just load software such as Web Matrix onto the network myself. I have established that the network has .NET framework on it. I went to a site that had a link that apparently tested this and it was affirmative. My real question is this. If I only have NotePad and .NET can I produce asp.net pages that use components such as labels and buttons etc. I am rather confused about the .net scene and I don't have too much time to spend surfing the net for this kind of stuff. Any pointers or ideas would be gueniuly welcome Thank you for your patience Geoff. |
