What questions do you ask?

Howdy,

I have a question for all experienced web designers and web masters, and anyone else that thinks they can help me.

First I will tell you a little bit about me.

I'm 19, and i'm looking to start a website design and promotion company.
I don't really know what i'm doing, but I'm willing to learn! And I think this is the best possible business to be in.
Also, I love ping pong! If there are any pongers out there... give me a shout!

Ok... so here is my question.

Is there any standard list of questions that web designers ask clients, to learn more about there business?

I have figured out some general questions like :
What kinds of products/services does your company provide?
Who is your target market?
What are your goals and objectives for having a website?
And other similar questions.

Is there any document or list of questions that you use, and wouldn't mind sharing with a newbie like myself?

Do u mean questions when asking the client about the kind of website they want?

maybe what kind of layout do they want or languages/programs they'd want to use...

firstly, are you up to speed with html / php / asp etc

As for a fixed set of questions, they can vary somwhat. you would need to ask sufficiant questions to gain a resonable knowledge to what the client wants from your services. those questions you posted are good, but why not try talking to the person on messenger or somthing and get to know them aswell. more often then not, people will tell you what they want.
