New Here

Hello my name is Mary I live in West Yorkshire with my husband and family.

We love Country Music and visit clubs & Festivals up and down the country. I also like to do things on my computer (I am not very good but do keep trying.

I am trying to upload music onto my site at the moment, I use a plug in etc upload & save but no music, ahhhhhh never mind I will keep trying.

We also love caravanning and have had several over 30 years (gosh that makes me sound old)

Re: Saying hello . . .

Thank you to all who have replied. Unfortunately when I do my web page I do not do it in code as I do not understand it. I design my page inMicrosoft FrontPage without using code.

Re: New Here

put it this way ( my opinion ) the amount of code that front page adds you might aswell just settle for power point... lol

Re: New Here

Nice one Bruno!

Mary ... it all depends really. If you want your site to adhere to web standards and the rules set by the W3C, then ditch Front Page and learn HTML and CSS by starting here:

Getting started with HTML
More Advanced Features
http://www.htmldog.com/guides/
Bulletproof HTML: 37 Steps to Perfect Markup

And the mother of all resources ... straight from the horses' mouth
HTML 4.01 Specification

And don't forget to check out the stickies in the various forums

if not then, by all means, continue on but ... you'll find that if you need help because something from your code isn't working, most will tel you what I said above : Ditch FP!

Re: New Here

Welcome to the forumz, Mary.

As you can tell, Front Page is not a real popular program here. However, that being said, use whatever you feel comfortable with. I use Dreamweaver in what is called the code view. And then use the design view to check my work. I am self taught which is what it sound like you are also. Take your time, ask questions. We have lots of growlers here, but no biters. We are here to help you make your site the best it can be.
