Hi Everyone

I am new. I am a web designer. I am thinking about doing a web site which highlights poor design. Do you think this is a good idea?

So many people are doing that now that I am not sure if you would have much to bring to the design. Welcome by the way . If you want to then go for it, we will help you along the way!

I would also like to have a link page which links to other badly designed web sites (name and shame those who are doing it). I hope to show bad web designers what it is to like to be p***ed off by their designs. Simple things like text in all capitals, too many big images on one page - that sort of thing. Plus I like to point that sort thing out to them and tell them what they can do about fixng it. Here is a classic of web design which p***es people off: [url=www.sherbetantlers.com]- it is not my website. It has certaintly p***ed me off and think the web designer knows that.

Thank you for your welcome.

Thank you for opinion. I would added those to the link page that I will doing for duff website. At least I tried to design for 56k modems. I am not saying I am a good web designer. I am just a bit fed up with web pages that 2 minutes to download.

I am probably the crappish web designer around.

Well to be quite honest with you and be very nice, your not a website designer. Go learn more about the web, and what factors make a webpage loading time suck. Haha, There are more factors than just file size. Also, I like the original Antlers webpage better than your redone edition. The original isn't really a webpage but a collection of images. With links to others. Go out and learn more, before you can judge others you have to know what you can do about it yourself. The worst thing you can do is to criticize other people and leave yourself wide open. We will be glad to assist you in all possible ways and help you learn the art and hard work that is known as web design. I hope that you take your skills to a much higher level with us and get to know truly what all is involved in webdesign.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) the web is going broadband.

Try not to look at the negative side - Broadband is already revolutionising design in quite a few ways. You can have better looking graphics and more immersive experiences. There will always be a place for cut-down streamlined sites, I mean, google is never going to change much - but alongside that will come more interesting sites too.

there are so many ways to improve your sites! how much HTML and the programming languages do u actually know? learn more, in the way of languages, but also in the way of design. Graphics are very important to the web... not just images, but colour schemes and the way the site looks

Yeah, you need to learn the different design schemes and all that good stuff. You need to learn the history of the web and you need to learn how to create a website without an editor. You need to learn JavaScript, CSS, HTML and start from there. Then you will be ready to fully enjoy the art of webdesign.
