Re: I'm a Flash designer using Vista Business edition
Welcome to the forum
This won't fix your problem, but as a temporary measure could you use Microsoft Vitual PC 2007? "Virtual PC 2007 is a powerful software virtualization solution that allows you to run multiple PC-based operating systems simultaneously on one workstation, providing a safety net to maintain compatibility with legacy applications while you migrate to a new operating system. It also saves reconfiguration time, so your support, development, and training staff can work more efficiently. Virtual PC 2007 runs on: Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Tablet PC, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, and Windows Vista Ultimate. See system requirements. Virtual PC 2007 Technical Overview" It's free http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dow...c/default.mspx

Re: I'm a Flash designer using Vista Business edition
Ross,
Thanks for this advice. I did install Virtual PC and tried it w/ Flash 8 but it just didn't work. I only have 1GB RAM and the 2 operating systems plus Flash was too much overhead. Flash 8 and Photoshop work OK in Vista Business but I just can't save my files. File saving is the issue, not the programs working or not. Other people are making this work and I feel it's a simple solve but can't find any info about it anywhere. Thanks, Mark |

Re: I'm a Flash designer using Vista Business edition - SOLVED
After searching all day I finally found the answer to this and I hope it helps someone else out. Apparently Windows Vista disables the true Administrator account. I had to turn it on in MMC even though I was logged in as another user with what I thought were full Admin rights. But only after turning on the Administrator account in MMC and then logging back on as the Administrator was I able to use all of my software. Now Adobe apps work fine in Vista for me.
You have to do it in MMC. No other way works. Mark |

Welcome to Webforumz!!
Sorry I did not get here quick enough to save you from your flash problems. I must say...I think it depends on wither you are running the 32 bit version, or the 64 bit version. Glad you solved your problem though!! |
