New Member + Questions

Hello, names pindergust, nice to meet you.

I joined because recently I've become highly interested in browser based games, actually playing six of them right now. I've gone through dozens of them, and realized that a majority of them are bite offs of each other. Another thing that bugs me is the simplicity.

I thought it would be awesome to be able to construct my own browser based game that could fix some of the common problems I run into. I need a road map though. I currently know XHTML, and I'm very familiar with Access. I don't know any programming though.

MY QUESTION: (the road map) What all would I need to learn, and in what order to make an online browser based game a reality?

well that list could be large
you say you kow access so id primarily go for using ASP, however you could use php like the kingsofchaos game. but it wont make that much differnce.

you could link it with normal webpages or you could link it with flash (more complex however) for the games interface

another thing would be some graphics - all games (or most at least) need the graphics to make them interesting and get the player coming back. It seems now all web designers/developers need to have some skill at graphics.

The possibibilties are huge, but in a nutshell try learn ASP and with your existing knowledge you shouldnt do far wrong. and if you dont already have them, some basic graphic skills wont do you wrong either

Welcomez I think flash/director is what you'd need to know, but im not sure of the type of games you play, do you mean the type of stuff thats on http://www.miniclip.com ?
