Mae govannen!

Hi all,

I came across this site on google, looking for web design forums of all things...

I've been designing webpages for a long time now, but I don't consider myself proficient at it. I hope to get better, especially when it comes to accessibility all users and computers. Only recently have I researched web design on the internet to a great extent; I've seen the light, realized I have so much to learn, see all my past mistakes. Now I want to learn to build better websites! Not that I have much time, I'm still doing high school (at home)

I actually just built a website for my family's product, www.rimroller.com, and was looking for reviews of it. I don't trust myself to have noticed all potential problems. Coding for multiple browsers can be a nightmare when you don't know exactly what you're doing.

I use Firefox, hate IE; IE throws a wrench in everything I try to accomplish.

Other websites I've done:

www.landofrohan.com
www.bookhug.com
www.handyfold.com

aaand...any other sites are too old and embarassing to share.

That rim thing is oddly satisfying. Send one to me for free, please

Yeah, you've got a lot to learn. Your coding is quite a bit off whereas standards are concerned. You've come to the right place, however. We've got experts in just about every field of web development.

Re: Mae govannen!

Welcome!

Quick question I don't get why I would want to roll up the rim of a coffee cup could someone help me out here. I drink a hell of a lot of coffee and it's never crossed my mind to roll up the rim until now.

Like the other two products though (the book thing and the letter folder). Are there any retailers that stock them in the uk do you know?

And again, welcome!

Pete.

Re: Mae govannen!

I was wondering the same thing. I don't drink coffee, but why roll the rim up?

Welcome to the forumz. They are all being modest. We got some great experinced designers here, many who have learned through the school of hard knocks which I think is the best way. So feel free to ask questions and learn.

In Canada, we have this BIG Tim Hortons contest every year which is "Roll up the rim to win". Tim Hortons is the biggest coffee joint in CA

Re: Mae govannen!

That's cool. I just had a look at the prizes on offer. It's pretty good. I just wish cafe nero (best coffee ever) or starbucks (worst coffee ever) would do something similar but I guess I'll just have to carry on spending a small fortune with no return (other than high blood pressure and a caffeine addiction). You ever won anything?

Pete.

Re: Mae govannen!

Not a coffee drinker at all. Sometimes I'll go and get a hot chocolate and even tho I maybe buy 2 or 3 during the whole run of the contest, I still have one stuff like a free donut and a free coffee.

Re: Mae govannen!

Stole the words out of my mouth, karinne! I can only imagine how weird the rim roller must sound without prior knowledge of roll up the rim to win...

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

Pete, you wondered if the book holder or letter folder were available in the UK? Alas, no, were have no retail stores carrying them there. We haven't penetrated that market, you could say. I have friends in the UK, and visited there last summer, so I'm in favour of selling there, but at this time we can't.

We can send you one if you order from the website, but I warn you the shipping is unfortunately high (for airmail, at least). I do thank you for your interest. Maybe in future we'll be selling them all over your country.

Re: Mae govannen!

That settles it, I'm moving to canada. I was there a few years ago and swore I'd return, now I've got another reason to go back. Reckon there are any opportunities for an up and coming web maestro?

If there are I'll just have to put some work in and actually become said maestro.

Pete.

Re: Mae govannen!

I still want a rim roller! I'll even pay if I must! I could sit there and play for hours and hours until all the cups in the world were unrolled.
