Hello

Hi, I'm Rami, thought I'd introduce myself, I'm a web developer and recently launched this website which I believe to be completely unique to the market - it allows web design companies to be rated and reviewed. So, spreading the "word of mouth" and "recommendations" concept through the web. I am aware that there are many 'directories' but if you visit my website, you will find that it is very unique and provides features which are not available in standard 'directories'.

The website can be found at http://www.whichwebdesigncompany.co.uk

Re: Hello

Interesting design, although it's too wide. I hate vertical scroll bars. My resolution is 1440 by 900, but I keep my browser at 900px wide to multitask. Don't just go by resolution stats when you make your choice...

Re: Hello

I dont agree with you on that point. The minimum standards these days are 1024 at least. You can easily multitask with 1024 resolution. Plus, you're from the very small minority that have a resolution that small and the advantages of a higher resolution outweigh, in my view, the needs of a small 10,000 people or less minority that use small resolutions.

Thank you for your suggestion though.

Re: Hello

Thanks for the link. You will find I have a matra which I often repeat here....It is the good old Web Design WOW factor. The service you provide is great, but the site seemed a little to safe looking for something that is providing a service to creative people. I am also not sure I was completely comfortable with the colors. I am not an experienced designer so these are just personal opinions. Everytime I look at someone elses site I learn something. So, despite everything,I have to say thanks.

Well, I am surprised that you don't want those 10,000 hits. Considering you are a new company, and I know for a fact that a lot of companies still use 800x600, and for that matter...some people do as well. But I guess the end decision is yours...but I am astonished that you don't care about that market. Most people try to make there website work and look good in every browser, and work with an 800x600 screen resolution. But again it is up to you.

Re: Hello

You misunderstand me, I have a 1440 wide resolution. I keep my browser smaller than that so I can multitask. Between fluid layouts and JavaScript solutions, there is no excuse for 99.99% of sites to not make their site work for 800 width browser widths.
