README: Why on earth would you want to link to us?

Google counts all inbound links to your website as a 'vote' from the website linking you.

Google uses this in part of it's page rank algorythm, so sites you link to (vote for) that do not link back are leaking some of your pagerank. Page rank is important when calculating a websites overall importance, and has a great deal to do with where you position in searches.

For this reason on these forums we have in effect a mechanism to prevent page rank leakage and therefore all links on webforumz.com are scrambled and forced via a redirecting page. The redirecting page is banned via our robots.txt file, so you will receive no benefit from linking to your site in posts, in your signature or your homepage link from your profile.

However, we have in effect an over-ride system for members who do link to webforumz.com. If you are linking (or will link) to webforumz.com on your website, please contact myself or another administrator and we can make sure that links to your own website are not redirected, and hence you receive the benefit from all links in your posts on this site.
