TPID - Trying to Progress In Desperation
Hi, I'm looking for a way to track flash adverts with TPIDs. This may be long winded, but the concept is quite simple! The problem is that I don't want to create hundreds of different SWFs with different TPIDs because of the space they would take up on our servers. My solution was to create the SWF to take the TPID from the HTML page that displays it, so each affiliate website would only have to receive an HTML page with a unique TPID - all would refer to the same SWF on our server.
This works when I test different pages calling the same flash movie but linking to a different place. The problem is that many affiliate websites use content management systems, so I can't necessarily ask them to simply paste my HTML into their page. I may be making this more difficult than it should be..! Is there a simpler way of doing this, or something I'm missing? I would be hugely grateful for all comments and suggestions! Dave |
