design & code problem - movie index strategy and loading movies

hi - please help. - i'm redesigning this template, an listing of available movies: http://www.mylifeguides.com/deanzaco...quicktime.html

I'm trying to figure out how and where to load the new movies. new, sized windows would be nice but i'm worried about popup blockers. In the top of the page, where the photo is now would be good but how to do get the movies to load?
Target brower environment is community college computer labs. I guess oldish, with no ability to change preferences, and maybe with popup blockers.

i think i could get JavaScript to change the movie and go to top, but the movie developer is worried about people turning off JS (who does that?) and he thinks he won't be able to maintain it.

I think it's going to be impossible without using scripting somewhere.

To replace the photo at top-left, as you are suggesting, is going to mean re-writing the page, either with JavaScript or at the server end with something like php.

From what I know thus far, this would be an ideal candidate for Ajax but you are going to have to have JavaScript turned on and accept that as the most likely scenario anyway.

I'm unclear how the popup blockers work. many allow user-initiated ones (triggered by clicking on links) but are there some that block those as well?

Personally, I'd use JS. I haven't seen evidence of the supposed 20% or whatever that turn off JS.
