2 Internet Explorer Problems - Help!

Well when I preview my website I haveon my computer (not uploaded) I have a couple of problems in IE but not firefox:

1. When I preview the website with IE I have a small green bar under the banner which has text on it. I have set the text to vertically align in the middle. When in IE the text is at the top and makes it look stupid, instead of being vertically aligned. Please note this text is in the format of a heading tag. If you know of a way around this please help. Also not I am coding in tables.

2. In my website I have thumbnail preview of patters, brushes etc. They are in the format of a bmp. When I preview in firefox all looks well but when I preview in IE. I just see boxes with an "x" at the top left with the alt name written on. So in other words the images are not showing up. Any reason for this?

Please help me sort this out because once I have I can go create lots of other pages as they are in the same format. There is no preview because my usual host is down.

The usual cause of number 2 is the fact that the browser cannot find the images in the directory it's looking in, cannot find the specified directory or display images is turned off.

1 is going to be more difficult o comment on without seeing your (x)html code and css.

I would say that you should not, as you have indicated you are, be using tables as a layout tool.

Re: 2 Internet Explorer Problems - Help!

I am more comfortable with tables at the moment. CSS is better and faster than tables as I have found out on my portfolio but for now I am sing tables for this as its one of my bigger projects and feel more comfortable with it. When you say they can't find the images.
How come firefox does?

I will try and get you a preview of the site so far but my usual host is down. Also please note the coding will have lots of problems at the moment because it has only been roughly done to start with until I fix it up. I prefer to work that way.

Re: 2 Internet Explorer Problems - Help!

Okay i have uncovered yet more coding errors. Including:
Need to change the green bar background colour as it flicks on as brown when loads
Need to add some sort of background pattern to liven it up
Images do not display on webpages (solved)
Text goes to the top of the green banner under the header.
Sign in boxes change to blank when hover over.
Blue bar under sign in flicks away when hover over table cells above it.
Sign in boxes look weird (should look like http://www.webmaster-files.com/images/input_03.gif)

If you see any more or any solutions to these please post. I undertstand there is a lot of errors but I really need this done. Please help

Website and example of coding is at http://www.webmaster-files.com/
Example of images not showing http://www.webmaster-files.com/patterns.html

Please save the "code in divs and css" for now.

Re: 2 Internet Explorer Problems - Help!

The first page now validates I think but still lots of coding issues to be resolved.

A new one is i can sign into the forum using the form on the homepage with firefox but in IE it doesnt log in, it just takes me to sign in page.

Go to www.webmaster-files.com to see the coding of the form area and the possibe solution as to why it doesn't work in IE.
