Trouble with divs

I have a problem. I've been trying to make it so some paragraphs within a html document line up at different places. For example:

A paragraph is
me. I am a
paragraph.

I too am a paragraph,
but i line up over here.

Paragraph pgph
etc etc etc.

I decided to use divs, and defined them as such

div.main {position: absolute; left: 15px; right: 75px}
div.sub {position: relative; left: 50px}

Although it appears to work nicely when viewed in a browser, when I attempt to print the page from MSIE, the text is pushed into a thin column on the left side of the screen. I've been banging my head into the keyboard trying to figure out how to make it print correctly and appear correctly in a browser as well, without having to create a second "printable" html page. Any suggestions? (Well, other than to stop banging my head into the keyboard.)

Re: Trouble with divs

Edit: imagine the character '-' as a space... replace the above example with:

A paragraph is
me. I am a
paragraph.

----------I too am a paragraph,
----------but i line up over here.

Paragraph pgph
etc etc etc.

Re: Trouble with divs

You probably will have to create a seperate css sheet in order to be able to print out your webpage.

Take a look at the link below.

Cheers

Re: Trouble with divs

Hey,
I might be wrong so feel free to correct me but I think you would have to create a new css sheet, like has already been said and then link to it with the:
Quote:
<LINK REL="print StyleSheet" TYPE="text/css" MEDIA="print" src"whatever.css">
I also found this tutorial that seems to go about it differently
http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/tutorials/css/mediatypes
Good luck!
