Re: make a forum
Hi,
There are a number of free forum making websites out there that you can create, I couldn't find the post from this forum listing all the best free forum software, but heres a link to the 22 free software:
http://bloggingbits.com/22-free-foru...e-communities/
I must recommend phpbb, I have used it several times, and has never served me wrong

Re: make a forum
Updates in phpbb are a bit on the difficult side.
If you want a good, stable, free forum I recommend Simple Machines
What also is good with Simple Machines, Right to Left languages like Arabic and Hebrew are very easy to implement.
See foe example the forum of a client in Hebrew.

Re: make a forum
i'd go with the above or punbb, however try not to get enticed by excessive features you don't really need or probably will never use.

Simple Machines isnt very Search engine friendly - a popular alternative now is Vanilla...

Re: make a forum
I am a senior in college who has spent a good time of it working with the media world but recently came upon a job offer for web content management. As a freshman I started out as a networking major and remember a good bit of programming, how to use dreamweaver and pretty much the basics. Anyways I was wondering what suggestions anybody would have for programs to use for content management, I know Impakt is a recommended extensions of dreamweaver and as far as forum building goes I know php, is recommended and recently looked into Vanilla because it was said to be more search friendly. I'm open to any suggestions.

Re: make a forum
One I have used recently is myBB. I find it very similar to vBulletin, which I use here as an Admin, and at another forum I use myBB. It's supposed to be very stable and secure, but there is a lack of modifications. However, I find it sufficient.

Re: make a forum
I was wondering if anybody knew anything about how to get or make a drop box? I have used them in school and recently came into an issue where I need to get input from people and files online, but I really have no idea how to create a drop box or even how to manage it. Any help would be appreciated.
